But I'm a Cheerleader online But I'm a Cheerleader is a 1999 satirical romantic comedy film directed by Jamie Babbit and written by Brian Wayne Peterson. Natasha Lyonne stars as Megan Bloomfield, an apparently happily heterosexual high school cheerleader. However, her friends and family are convinced that she is a homosexual and arrange an intervention, sending her to a reparative therapy camp to cure her lesbianism. At camp, Megan soon realizes that she is indeed a lesbian and, despite the therapy, gradually comes to embrace this fact. The supporting cast features Clea DuVall, Cathy Moriarty, RuPaul, Mink Stole and Bud Cort. But I'm a Cheerleader was Babbit's first feature film. It was inspired by an article about conversion therapy and her childhood familiarity with rehabilitation programs. She used the story of a young woman finding her sexual identity to explore the social construction of gender roles and heteronormativity. The costume and set design of the film highlighted these themes using artificial textures in intense blues and pinks. When it was initially rated as NC-17 by the MPAA, Babbit made cuts to allow it to be re-rated as R. When interviewed in the documentary film This Film Is Not Yet Rated Babbit criticized the MPAA for discriminating against films with homosexual content. The film was not well received by critics who compared it unfavorably to the films of John Waters and criticized the colorful production design. The lead actors were praised for their performances but some of the characters were described as stereotypical

Mean Girls online Her parents being zoologists, Cady Heron has never known what "high school" truly meant. She lived her first 15 years in the African jungle, home-schooled, living life with only her parents and the animals of the wilderness, knowing all of the rules of survival. However, when she moves out of Africa, she has to learn the rules of high school, a jungle in itself. She instantly makes friends with two sweet teenagers, Damian and Janis, who, in the terms of the high school, were in the "out crowd." Soon she meets the Plastics, the three crude, beautiful, popular girls, consisting of Regina, the unofficial leader, Gretchen, Regina's full-time follower, and Karen, "one of the dumbest people you will ever meet." They immediately let her into their group, but Cady, wanting to keep her first friends, is unsure. The two convince Cady to keep her relationship with the Plastics, only so that they can know their dark secrets. However, events turn for the worse when Cady falls for Regina's ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels. When Regina finds out, she seeks revenge of Cady by taking Aaron back. When Cady finds out, what began as a game to discover secrets turns into a plan to destroy Regina. Now, Cady, Janis, and Damian plot together to bring Regina's status down. However, as Cady spends more time with the Plastics, she, too, begins to become one Yes, I’m incorrectly tagging this as “chicklit” and “teen angst,” but I don’t feel like making any new tagging categories and those two just might work. Mean Girls is actually pretty funny. It’s not as cheesy and annoying as it could have been. I already hated “the plastics” as soon as I saw the cover and I didn’t think I could bear more than an hour of them. As it turns out, I could. That’s how good this movie was. Maybe it’s because I’m easily amused, but I really did enjoy the high school humor. I only wonder if the girl who plays Regina’s sister has been scarred for life after the filming. Lindsay Lohan still looks decent here. Despite her increasing notoriety in the recent years, she’s actually a pretty good actress. I mean, she’s so believable I didn’t laugh at all when her character turns out to be a girl who’s smart enough to get into a calculus class. She should have learned to pronounce “zoologist” correctly, though. I think that’s going to haunt her for life. Not that it’s among her worst problems. I do wish they had picked younger actresses to play the rest of the main characters. Being only about nineteen at the time, Lindsay can still pass as a high school junior (somewhat), but the others are obviously way too old to be in high school. In fact, I checked the girls’ birthdates and found out that they’re all older than I am, especially the girl who plays Regina. And I was already in college when this movie came out They are more believable as “the plastics” as Sharpay and her clique are in High School Music 2, though. I don’t know if there’s something about the cameras that the Disney Channel uses that makes all of its shows annoying or if the girl who plays Sharpay is just a terrible actress, but she pissed me off so much every time she appeared on the screen. If I were a director I would pick Regina over Sharpay to be a mean girl any time, old-looking or not. Another thing that bothers me is the sexual content of this movie. Was it really necessary for that calculus teacher to take off her shirt with her sweater? The way the girls dress bother me. Isn’t there some sort of dress code in high school? I highly doubt a real high school would allow the girls to perform Jingle Bell Rock like that every single year. Then again, this is a movie, not the real world. I get it. Finally, I just want to point out that the question asked in the final round for the math competition is idiotic. I may not know about calculus as much as I should, but a question about limits can have only what, four possible answers? In the real world, that other girl couldn’t possibly miss a simple question like that. She is the one with the glasses and the unplucked eyebrows. She probably spends all her spare time studying.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory online Most nights in the Bucket home, dinner is a watered-down bowl of cabbage soup, which young Charlie gladly shares with his mother and father and both pairs of grandparents. Every night, the last thing Charlie sees from his window is Willy Wonka's great factory, and he drifts off to sleep dreaming about what might be inside. For nearly fifteen years, no one has seen a single worker going in or coming out of the factory, or caught a glimpse of Wonka himself, yet, great quantities of chocolate are still being made and shipped all over the world. One day Willy Wonka makes a momentous announcement. He will open his famous factory and reveal "all of its secrets and magic" to five lucky children who find golden tickets hidden inside five randomly selected Wonka chocolate bars. Nothing would make Charlie's family happier than to see him win but the odds are very much against him as they can only afford to buy one chocolate bar a year, for his birthday. One by one, news breaks around the world about the children finding golden tickets and Charlie's hope grows dimmer. But then, something wonderful happens. Charlie finds some money on the snowy street and takes it to the nearest store for a Wonka Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight. There, under the wrapper is a flash of gold. It's the last ticket. Charlie is going to the factory! The family decides that Grandpa Joe, who used to work in the factory, should be the one to accompany Charlie on this adventure. Once inside, Charlie is dazzled by one amazing sight after another. Wondrous gleaming contraptions of Wonka's own invention churn, pop, and whistle, crews of merry Oompa-Loompas mine mountains of fudge beside a frothy chocolate waterfall, a hundred trained squirrels on a hundred tiny stools shell nuts for chocolate bars, and Wonka himself pilots an impossible glass elevator that rockets every which way you can think of through the fantastic factory. Almost as intriguing as his fanciful inventions is Willy Wonka. He thinks about nothing but candy--except, every once in a while, when he seems to be thinking about something that happened long ago, that he can't quite talk about. Meanwhile, the other children prove to be a rotten bunch, and one by one, their greedy personalities lead them into all kinds of trouble that force them off the tour. When only Charlie is left, Willie Wonka reveals the final secret, the absolute grandest prize of all: the keys to the factory itself
