Red Dragon online With the exception perhaps of Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho', 'Silence of the Lambs' - in which FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) must consult psychotic psychiatrist Hannibal ('the Cannibal') Lecter from his maximum security cell in her pursuit of another serial killer - is the most popular and most famous psycho-thriller ever put on screen, and has transformed Anthony Hopkins, who plays Lecter, into a Hollywood mainplayer, a knight of the realm, and a spokesperson for Barclays Bank (which apparently sees no irony in being associated with a ruthless, arrogant maneater). This is not to say that the film was without flaws. So intense and mesmerising were the scenes between Starling and Lecter - essentially a subplot in the film - that the main plot, when it came, was little more than a limp, forgettable appendage. In the sequel, 'Hannibal', Sir Anthony reprised his role with gusto, although Foster had lost her appetite for the affair and was replaced by Julianne Moore. The film had its tasty bits, but it quickly became clear that Lecter is a far more compelling character when he wields his malign influence from behind bars - once unconfined, he seemed as much of a ham as the trained killer pigs that pursue him in the film. 'Silence of the Lambs' and 'Hannibal' were screen adaptations of the second and third novels in Thomas Harris' Hannibal trilogy - and in the wake of their box-office success, Hollywood has decided to exercise the prequel option by going back to the first novel in the trilogy, 'Red Dragon'. In a way, this film represents all of the good things about its predecessors, with none of the bad. In a brief prologue, we see how Lecter (Anthony Hopkins again) was first outwitted and apprehended by Special Agent Will Graham (Edward Norton). Some time later, Graham has recovered from his injuries and retired to live with his wife and son, but is persuaded to take 'one last case', involving a serial killer dubbed 'the Toothfairy' who carries out ritualistic slaughters of families every full moon. At an impasse, Graham is forced to consult Lecter behind bars, just like Starling did before (or, technically, after) him. Again we are treated to magnetic scenes involving mind games and manipulation, only this time with the added bonus that Lecter bears a genuine grudge against his interlocutor and is out for revenge. Even better, this time the killer is a flesh-and-bones character rather than a grunting cipher, and his storyline is well developed and engaging in its own right. Director Brett Ratner has assembled an impressive cast, including Ralph Fiennes, Harvey Keitel, Emily Watson, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. There are enough canny references to the 'previous' two films to keep any fan of the series happy, including the sight of Lecter already making a meal of his hopelessly inadequate nemesis from 'Silence of the Lambs', Dr Chiltern (again played by Anthony Heald). In a way, however, this is precisely the film's problem: like so many sequels, it is burdened by its own history. Too many of its scenes are second takes (albeit improved ones) of elements that are all too familiar from the other films. Besides, 'Red Dragon' is itself in effect a remake of Michael Mann's much overlooked 'Manhunter' (1986), which, despite all its cloying, 'Miami Vice'-style slickness, is still sufficiently similar to Ratner's film to make you wonder why Ratner has bothered. 'Red Dragon' is good - in fact, probably much better than all its predecessors - I only wish that it had been the first, rather than the last, in the series.

Rock Haven онлайн / online In the film “Rock Haven,” religion, sexuality and romance collide as a deeply spiritual young man experiences his first love. Brady (newcomer Sean Hoagland) is a young, spiritual man who moves to the coastal seaside town of Rock Haven with his overprotective mother Marty (Laura Jane Coles), who is setting up a Christian school nearby. When Brady meets worldly, seductive Clifford (Owen Alabado), there’s an instant mutual attraction, even though homosexuality conflicts with Brady’s devoutly Christian beliefs. “Rock Haven” is a sensual story about a young man who discovers the joy of first love – and the transformative power of faith

Twin Peaks online Episod 0. Pilot Episod 1. Traces to nowhere Episod 2. Zen or the skill to catch a killer Episod 3. Rest in pain Episod 4. The one armed man Episod 5. Cooper's dreams Episod 6. Realisation time Episod 7. The last evening 8... On the morning of February 24th, in the town of Twin Peaks, Washington state, lumberjack Pete Martell discovers a naked corpse tightly wrapped in a sheet of clear plastic on the bank of a river. Following the arrival of Sheriff Harry S. Truman, his deputies, and Dr. Will Hayward on the scene, the body is discovered to be that of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, the most popular girl at the local high school. The news spreads among the town's residents, particularly Laura's family and friends. Meanwhile, just across the state line, a second girl, Ronette Pulaski, is found walking along the railroad tracks in a fugue state. Since Ronette was discovered across the state line, FBI Agent Dale Cooper is called in to investigate. Cooper's initial examination of Laura's body reveals a tiny typed letter 'R' inserted under her fingernail. He recognizes this as the "calling card" of a killer who took the life of Teresa Banks a year earlier in a town located "in the southwest corner of the state" (revealed in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me to be Deer Meadow). Cooper quickly establishes that Laura's character and relationships are not as they first appear, and that she's far from the wholesome homecoming queen that those closest to her believed her to be. It is revealed that Laura was two-timing her boyfriend Bobby Briggs with sullen biker James Hurley, a fact known to Laura's best friend Donna Hayward. Cooper also finds traces of cocaine in Laura's diary, indicating a drug habit she shared with Bobby. Meanwhile, Donna and James begin an investigation of their own into Laura's death, and find themselves embarking on a romantic relationship with each other...

Brother Sun, Sister Moon online British newcomer Graham Faulkner portrays Francesco, the spoiled son of a wealthy merchant. Following his return from war, Francesco renounces all his worldly possessions to live an ascetic and simple life as a man of God and nature. Much to the dismay of his family, friends and the local bishop, he gradually gains a large following amongst the poor and the suffering. The film contrasts Francis's innocence, piety and virtue with the bloated pomp of official Roman Catholic Church doctrine, which is depicted as being weighed down by internal politics, corruption and hypocrisy. Much of Brother Sun Sister Moon was filmed in locations and buildings frequented by the real-life Francis of Assisi. The film derives much of its strength from Faulkner's performance as the young, battle-scarred nobleman laid low by his wartime experiences, who emerges from the horrors of conflict with a completely new and spiritual outlook on life. Emotions are released into a climax of peace, love and understanding. It is possible to draw parallels between this film and Vietnam war veterans, who in struggling for identity, truth and meaning on returning from conflict in the 60's and early 70's found God at their lowest point in life.

Stoned online Fact-based story about the drug-addled and sordid life of The Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones (Leo Gregory). Unfortunately the story moves so quickly into the sensationalized decadence and drug-induced state of Jones, that the unknowing viewer has to wonder why anyone would care. There are only a few framing sequences with members of The Stones, particularly Keith Richards (Ben Whishaw), that show they had a great respect for him and tried to bring him back into the band as he drifted away. Mixed into the destruction of Jones is a common builder, Frank Thorogood, (Paddy Considine), who is given the unenviable task of trying to please Jones by rebuilding his estate and to watch him per Jones' manager's (David Morrissey) instructions. Thorogood's life is so far removed from all of the sex and drugs that he sees, that he envies and desires the tawdry life as well, but never quite fits in. Unfortunately, at least according to this film and according to a supposed death bed confessional of Thorogood in 1993, it led to Thorogood's murder of Jones in a swimming pool "accident". Jones' Swedish girl friend is portrayed by Tuva Nuvotny. Other Stones are played by Luke de Woolfson (Jagger), Josef Altin (Wyman), and James D. White (Watts). The film contains full frontal male and female nudity, frequent graphic sex, constant drug use and profanity, and some violence as Brian beats his girl friend and, of course, the depiction of the murder.
